Older people who have passed covid-19 have a “significantly higher” risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease within a year and this has been observed in particular in women aged at least 85.

A study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease conducted with patients over the age of 65 indicates that the risk of developing this disease is between 50% and 80% higher than a control group.
