The chairman of Kadokawa publishing house, one of the biggest in Japan, was arrested today for his alleged links to bribes linked to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, according to the Japanese public broadcaster NHK.

Tsuguhiko Kadokawa, 79, allegedly donated around 69 million yen (481,000 euros) to a consulting firm run by an acquaintance of Haruyuki Takahashi (78), a member of the board of directors of the organizing committee of the event which was held in the summer of 2019. 2021 and arrested since August in the case of the alleged bribes.
