Veteran journalist Manuel Molares do Val, who worked for the EFE agency for more than three decades, died this Tuesday at the age of 79 at the Puerta de Hierro de Majadahonda hospital (Madrid) following a stroke, according to family sources.

Molares, born in Pontedeume (A Coruña), was a sailor and engineer before studying journalism, after which he joined the EFE agency, where he was a correspondent in Mexico, Belgium, China and the United States.
