Digital piracy in Spain fell by 8% in 2021 compared to 2020, a drop that marks a “turning point” since since 2018 the cumulative drop has been 20% and which makes the cinema sector the one that best fights against ” theft” since it has reduced its consumption of illegal content by 21%.

This stems from the 2021 Observatory of Piracy and Digital Content Consumption Habits presented by the Grouping of Content Creators and Industries this morning at the National Archaeological Museum and in which it is specified that this 8% drop represents a total of 5.334 million illegal accesses, which had a market value of 32.492 million euros and caused damage to the digital cultural sector of 2.271 million.
