The fire which broke out on Monday just over ten kilometers west of Bordeaux (south-west of France), and which forced the evacuation of 840 people, burned more than 3,500 hectares, according to the prefecture of the Gironde department.

On its Twitter account, the government delegation explained today that during the night of Tuesday to Wednesday the fire which started in the town of Saumos burned an additional 300 hectares, in addition to the 3,200 identified yesterday.
