New York, September 14 (EFE). Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez Almeida on Wednesday asked his colleague from New York, Eric Adams, for advice on dealing with youth gangs, an issue that “concerns them in Madrid, as everyone knows”. and which was one of the main issues of the meeting between the two elected municipal officials.

Almeida said the main lesson he learned from New York – where he also met with local police officials, a force of 38,000 officers – is the importance of “school-based prevention work through guardian agents”, an idea that he plans to transfer to the municipal police of Madrid.
