One in three people (36%) who have been infected with COVID-19 and who have not been vaccinated no longer have detectable antibodies one year after infection, according to a seroprevalence study of 1,076 people between 43 and 72 in Catalonia before the omicron variant was predominant.

The study, published today in the journal ‘BMC Medicine’, found that vaccine type, age and mental health are factors strongly associated with post-vaccination antibody levels, and demonstrates the need for to be vaccinated despite being infected.
