José María Calero, lawyer for former Andalusian President José Antonio Griñán, explained that he will present an annulment incident against the Supreme Court’s decision that sentenced him to six years in prison for embezzlement in the ERE case because of the way in which the said award was produced, in two separate acts.

In statements to EFE, the lawyer of the former head of the Council indicated that the way in which the sentence is pronounced in two separate acts led his client “to have the status of condemned without penalty”, which could produce “An additional or unnecessary suffering that must be seen if it can be compensated by a reduction in sentence”.
