Spain will plead this Friday at the informal Council of EU Agriculture Ministers to avoid unilateral responses to the current food crisis, which is due to the war in Ukraine and climate change, and will also ask for transparency, to avoid market speculation.

The current situation has led to an “abnormally high increase in food prices”, Spain’s Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Minister Luis Planas reminded Efe when he arrived at the Prague council.
