The Spanish government wants to open a “new relationship” with the United Kingdom -after Brexit and with a new British executive-, in which a definitive agreement on Gibraltar will soon be concluded within the framework of the European Union and the best conditions for citizens residing in the respective countries.

Spain understands that there are two plans in these relations, as explained by diplomatic sources: the community plan, in which “it will be difficult to have a healthy relationship if the Brexit agreement is not respected”, and the bilateral plan, which particularly affects the many citizens who live in both countries.
